Blog Help/Tips/Concerns

  • What is a Blog?
Blog
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

blog (a blend of the term web log)[1] is a type of website or part of a website. Blogs are usually maintained by an individual with regular entries of commentary, descriptions of events, or other material such as graphics or video. Entries are commonly displayed in reverse-chronological order. Blog can also be used as a verb, meaning to maintain or add content to a blog.
Most blogs are interactive, allowing visitors to leave comments and even message each other via widgets on the blogs and it is this interactivity that distinguishes them from other static websites.[2]

  • Why a Blog?
We created this blog to share with parents the wonderful memories that are made in our class, and to help you stay informed of upcoming events. We hope it will help parents feel more connected to our classroom and teachers while also allowing parents to share pictures of our events. By the end of the year, we should have an online diary of our whole school year together!

  • Who can see this blog?
For the time being, this blog is public, just like the school website. This means that anyone may see the blog when they visit the address:

Be sure and share this with friends and family!

  • What if I DON'T want my child's picture or name on here?
We respect everyone's wishes and requests on whether their child's name and picture is shown on this blog. Please contact us if you have a special request to exclude your child from being online on this blog.

  • What can I find on here?
You can also find important dates, events, birthdays, snack calendars, show-n-tell days, and lots more! Just take a few minutes to scroll down the right side of the main page to find lots of information. We also have 'pages' under the main heading, where you can find information on Newsletters, Stations, and much more. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us and we will be happy to help!

  • Pictures/Sharing
All pictures posted on this blog can be copied to your computer. Just right click on the picture and save. Or if you have a MAC, press 'Control' and click on picture. It will give you an option to "Save as..." and this is where you can save it to your documents.

We recommend making a special file folder on your computer for these pictures. Then, it will be easy to find and you can upload to any online store such as Walmart Photo or Snapfish, to print. Or you can print on a home printer.

If you are a parent and have pictures to share, please email them to your child's teacher, and she will review them to post on the blog. Help us make this blog extra special!
